ohmigosh! You cannot believe how much has happened since the last post. A lot. But I’ll keep the details to wedding stuff, how’s that sound?
Our pastor has urged us to have the wedding sooner rather than later. Okay, I HATE being told what to do, but I am glad he is pushing us to get it done, or we’ll just keep dragging it out and making excuses.
We really wanted Saturday, July 5th. A long weekend for me to get things prepared, my sister can fly in from LA. I was so excited. Finally remembered to tell the pastor the date. He cannot do it. He’ll be out of town all week with the youth and have a hard time even getting a sermon prepared for Sunday. BOOH
So we pushed it back a week. The date is set. July 12, 2008. I want a morning wedding. 10:15 am
I have my dress, the Niki Livas dress–white with black polka dots. We are keeping with that theme for everything!!! For BabyGirl, I have picked the Black and White dress below for her to wear!

Papi will wear his black suit, and one of these ties:

The first one he could wear again. The second looks a bit cartoon-ish. The third is my favorite. I definitely need some opinions here!!
My invitation will not show up for some reason. Grrr. It’s white with a black layered border with white polka dots. I ordered them tonight, so I’ll get them and print them!
Then, thinking of other things….
(napkins)

Except the candle would be white with black dots. I would be making that myself. I do not want to do the unity candle thing… my parents would rather not be involved that much. And I don’t think Scott and I need to? But I was thinking about making votives as my favors for the guests. Maybe not votives, but the next size up. I will buy the stuff to do it tomorrow and try to a trial few finished. Then I’ll post those too!
FOOD! Hmmm, I want a Brunch Buffet. So many ideas!
One bad thing. I have no clue where we are doing the wedding. We find a beautiful location at Giant City Park. So I called to reserve it, it has a flat bottom area where we could do the ceremony, then walk up a little hill and have the reception in the pavilion. I call. It’s not booked (YAY!) but they do not reserve it. It’s a first come first serve basis. WAH??? That makes me so nervous. I told her to put me in the book (So they’ll have the area mowed and such). I don’t know. I want it there SO BAD, but I’m afraid there will be a big thing set up there at like 5 in the morning! UGH I’m going to check out the church tomorrow and study what to do. WE’ll probably have about 40 people there.
Music wise, I know I don’t want complete traditional stuff.
For the Processional, I really like …And then I kissed Him–Hans Zimmer
Recessional I’m thinking Angel–Marty Friedman
I don’t want a dancing reception and all that–people stay too long and eat and drink too much! $$$ We’re on our own here! I’d rather spend the cash on my baby. ha ha ha
Okay, that’s the update for now!!

It looks like you are having a lot of fun playing with your wedding! My favourite kind, the ones where every one can have fun!

Absolutely LOVE the polka dot theme Stacy! You will have such a beautiful day! July 12th will be perfect for you guys… perfect weather!
I’m so happy for you!
Hans Zimmer – listening to that song now… LOVE IT. I still haven’t decided on our songs and I need to do that like right now… waiting on an email back from our Pastor as well.
That really sucks that you can’t schedule that pavilion. You would think you’d be able to… geez, that’s too bad. Could you have someone go there very very very VERY early in the morning and start setting up?
How beautiful will a morning wedding be!! Oh Stacy… how fun!

The black and white theme is lovely. The bouquets look wonderful. You have a beautiful creative mind. Have fun and enjoy..

I am also planning a brunch wedding with the ceremony in the same room – in front of the fireplace. We are not planning dancing but will instead have background music during the meal. My fear is that my guests will not have a nice time or it will not be memorable to them. It will last only 3-hours. What do you think?
